Intro to Mokume Gane with Dan Neville

Through May 7. Mokume gane is an ancient Japanese patterning technique that was developed to decorate samurai swords. This class will focus on the creation and patterning of mokume gane. Students will start by preparing and laminating a billet of copper and brass. Then patterns will be created through processes such as carving, drilling, and grinding. Forging and rolling will produce the final sheet of patterned metal.
