The Women’s Studio Workshop invites the community to escape the winter weather and enjoy a hearty bowl of chili at their 22nd annual Chili Bowl Fiesta Fundraiser on February 23. Whether you love collecting handmade pottery, supporting local nonprofits, chowing on chili, or some combo, this fun, music-filled event will tickle your fancy. Enjoy a hearty meal and help raise money for WSW's arts programming.
Located just outside Rosendale, WSW provides an artists’ workspace and residency program that supports the creative work of female artists in particular. Over the years, the popular Chili Bowl fundraiser has outgrown many venues and will now be hosted in the spacious dining hall at Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge, just five minutes up the road from WSW’s facilities.
For this fundraiser, over 20 local restaurants and chefs in the Hudson Valley have donated more than 50 gallons of chili. With tasty options for meat lovers, vegans, and vegetarians alike, there is a warming bowl of chili for everyone.
The Chili Bowl Fiesta serves as an intersection of art, music, and heartwarming homemade chili that brings the community together in support of WSW. Along with admiring the wonderful ceramics created in at WSW, enjoy live music by In The Kitchen. Local to the Hudson Valley, this rock-energized folk band is in the midst of releasing its second album. Live music will continue throughout the day, with early bird admission to the event beginning at 2pm for $10. Free admission then starts at 4pm, and the event will last till 7pm.
