The Barking Goose, Newburgh

Bookstore, bar, and cafe triple-threats are always fond of doing their own spin on trendy bar events. The Barking Goose has hopped on the weekly trivia trend, hosting a themed trivia night every Thursday at 7 pm. This October comes Trivia for Dummies, “Friends” trivia, and Halloween costume trivia.

Rough Draft Bar & Books, Kingston

Looking to spend more time at Rough Draft Bar & Books but don’t have the funds for all the books and coffee you’d want to buy? Try your hand at their weekly trivia night. Their team trivia can award you cash to spend at the bar while you revel in your win. Stop by on any Thursday at 7pm to show off your knowledge-and possibly get paid.

Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Elmsford

Captain Lawrence Brewing Company offers weekly trivia to try your hand at, and a little something more for trivia enthusiasts. Their trivia nights have the added bonus of racking up your points over multiple weeks in their trivia league, which competes with a few other area bars. Whether you want a casual or an all out trivia experience, Wednesdays at 7pm is when you should head to Captain Lawrence.

McGillicuddy’s, New Paltz

A longtime trivia hotspot in New Paltz, McGillicuddy’s does late-night trivia for weekday insomniacs. And Tuesdays at 9pm they host their weekly trivia, where you get $1 on your first draft and other drink specials as you compete for gift card prizes.

Bailey’s Cafe, Saratoga Springs

Mondays are usually the worst day of the week, but you can brighten them up a bit with the weekly trivia night at Bailey’s Cafe. Mondays at 7:30pm play a round of trivia for a prize while you enjoy $14 burger and brew night. Monday bar specials also include Jameson Caskmates or Original, Irish Mule, and 007.

Newburgh Brewing Company, Newburgh

Getting together with your friends and/or coworkers is a lot more fun when there’s competition in the air and you have team trivia to bond over. The Newburgh Brewing Company hosts a weekly team trivia night on Wednesday at 7:30pm, right after their 4-7pm happy hour. Come by early to eat and drink with lower prices, then stay for a good time testing your brain with your crew.

Keegan Ales, Kingston

If you prefer a trivia night that's a little more challenging, check out Keegan Ales’ Trivia Break Tuesdays. The team trivia goes beyond pop-culture and well-known facts into movies, music, sports, history, and more. Win gift cards, free rounds at the bar, and bragging rights (what we’re all here for) with the title of “The Smartest People in the Room.”

Cousins Ale Works, Wappingers Falls

Cousins Ale Works runs a trivia night two to three times a month for people to come test their brains—and maybe even win some brew bucks or a chance to sign their championship belt. Rounds of trivia are accompanied by $10 personal pizza and beer night. Take a look at the calendar on their facebook page to see when their next trivia night is coming up.
