Water Is Life: Benefit for Indigenous Water Protectors

When: Thu., March 30, 6-8 p.m. 2017

Water Is Life is a fundraiser benefiting Standing Rock, Split Rock, indigenous water protectors, and their allies. This event will consist of an opening ceremony with the Chief of the Ramapough Lenape Nation, performances by local Native Americans, several speakers, and interactive displays/information booths run by local conservation groups, businesses, organizations, and clubs related to the cause. Speakers include Iris Marie Bloom, Coalition Against Pilgrim Pipelines NY and founder of Protecting Our Waters, and Shai Blackbird, a Native American student from the Standing Rock area. Come learn about water protection, alternative energy, and perspectives of natives and other community members.
