Brooklyn rock ’n’ soul band the Jay Vons will headline the third installment of SmashCrashBash!!, a semi-regular, rock ’n’ roll-themed party at the Half Moon in Hudson, NY, on Friday, September 27.
Co-presented by CAVESTOMP! and SmashCrashBash productions, SmashCrashBash!! features live performances by the tops in totally rockin’, hand-picked touring bands and DJs spinning the best in punk, garage, vintage glam, rock ’n’ roll, and old-school soul and R&B for your dancing and screaming pleasure.
The Jay Vons feature members of the Reigning Sound, Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens, and Robbers on High Street, and play garagey blue-eyed mod soul with hints of the Young Rascals, Barry & the Remains, and the Action. The guitar/organ/bass/drums outfit aptly describes its rocking, floor-filling songs as “danceable heartbreakers.” Check 'em out:
Opening the bill will be Kingston garage punk trio Lovesick. Manning the turntables will be DJs Tim Livingston (of Upstate punks the Last Conspirators and renowned reissue label Sundazed Music) and Mr. Chips (AKA Andrew Nelson, Sundazed Music graphic artist/Down in the Valley Promotions and Designs).
SmashCrashBash!! #3 will take place at the Half Moon in Hudson, NY, on Friday, September 27, at 9pm. Tickets are $5 at the door. For more information, call (518) 822-1913 or visit www.facebook.com/events/538324172901508/.
