One weekend only–Saturday March 2 and Sunday, March 3. This trail of video and light-based artworks is on view after dark in the 300 and 400 blocks of Catskill’s Main Street.  Free tours at 6:30 pm start at the Union Mills Building, 361 Main Street in Catskill, NY.  

Artists will utilize sidewalks, storefront windows and building facades as viewing surfaces,  exploring the experience of light during the darkest months of the year.   Saturday at 8 PM, party with the the party starts with a live performance by Hudson’s preeminent hiphop star Young Paris.

Participating Artists include: Jordan Albaugh, Cheryl Bentley, Christian Hali, Jared Handelsman, Laetitia Hussain, Richard Kroehling, Charles Lindsay, Young Paris, Kenji Suzuki, Jonathan Wang, Tuguldur Yondonjamts, and more.

Designed to showcase Catskill’s streetscape, Masters on Main Street started in February 2010 showing work by over 100 artists from more than 35 top studio programs around the country in addition to collaborations with the artists from Occupy with Art and the New York Foundation for the Arts. The current round will primarily include video work from Hudson Valley and New York City artists.

Curator, Jonathan Wang is an interdisciplinary artist who recently moved to Columbia County. His work revolves around popular photographic/video practices and how we experience space. Wang was also the founder and director of FOTO Project Space, a non-profit artist-run photography space in Cape Town, South Africa that serves as a flexible platform for township-based artists.

The Glow Show is presented in concert with Masters on Main Street’s 3rd Annual Catskill Film and Video Festival with screenings on Saturday/Sunday, March 2/3 from noon to 6 PM both days.  Admission is $5 suggested donation at the door.
