When: Sat., Sept. 9, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 2017
The course includes coverage of the phases of injury and the injury-prevention model, prevention tips for sports-related injuries common to specific sports (such as sprains and concussions) and appropriate treatment for common injuries and illnesses. The following topics will be covered during the training: assessment, bleeding control, shock management, illness assessment and injury assessment. Students will practice simulated injuries to gain competency in skills. This course meets the New York state coaching requirements for first aid.
