On October 14, the historian Eve M. Kahn, longtime NY Times contributor, will lecture at Harmony Hall about the forgotten painter, inventor, Couturier & ceramist Edith Varian Cockcroft (1881-1962). Cockcroft, a Brooklyn native, studied art w/ William Merritt Chase & traveled widely in Europe before World War I. She continued her work in Sloatsburg, NY.
