When: Sun., Oct. 28, 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and Sun., Nov. 4, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Give your hand a try at the rich possibilities of the illustrated ceramic surface. In this workshop we will learn sgraffito, a technique of scratching through underglaze to reveal the contrasting color clay beneath. This simple process produces lively textures and detailed imagery, creating an entirely new layer of interest in your pottery. In the second week of the class we will finish the work with color and glaze. Please be prepared for the workshop with 2 to 4 small pieces of your own pottery or tiles at the leather hard stage in white cone 6 stoneware or porcelain.
