This innovative and touching program presents the music of Schubert’s Octet in dialogue with one of New York’s most distinctive literary voices, Adam Gopnik. In between movements of the exhilarating Octet, Gopnik will read an original narrative about the intersection of music and life. The Octet is a signature piece for St. Luke’s and this premiere presentation of Gopnik’s original material will open new doors of musical meaning for all of us. The audience is invited to join the author for a discussion and dialogue following the concert.
