Poem: Talkin’ Shop

It’s cold out there!
Keep warm!
It’s February, that’s for sure!

It’s all anyone’s talking about this morning.
I burned my tongue on hot coffee.
Purple skin wraps my fingers with its winter.

I built the eighth world wonder
Out of cheerios and jelly packets
At a diner booth for one.

The window screen cut the trees
Into uncountable pieces.
