Poem: Romeo

There’s a dog on my block
named Romeo;
he doesn’t know his own beauty.
Each day he trots the streets
of our hamlet,
brings joy just by being.
He knows breeze and
dirt and sun,
bird, cat, and home.
He has no other way but glee,
jumping hello
because all the world is fine
and all of us are kings.
