Party in a Berkshires Barn

The newly restored Egremont Barn is hosting its inaugural live music series this summer. Part of the historic Egremont Village Inn in the Berkshires, built in 1786 by Revolutionary War veteran Colonel Joseph Curtis, it’s one of the oldest buildings in the area. The talent runs the gamut from Marshall Crenshaw’s compelling rock featured at the Grand Opening Party this past weekend on July 8th and 9th, to Trout Fishing in America’s totally fun acoustic family shows coming up on July 23rd.

Dubbed by NPR’s Kathy O’Connell as "the Lennon and McCartney of Kids’ Music," Trout Fishing in America is comprised of bass player Keith Grimwood and guitarist Ezra Idlet. Together, they form an eclectic folk/rock band best known for family music and kids’ songs. The four-time Grammy Nominee duo have captured the imagination and hearts of audiences of all ages for over three decades. On Saturday, July 23rd, they’ll be playing three shows: A family show at 2p which combines children’s material with the lighter side of the folk/pop show, and two additional shows that concentrate on more sophisticated original music and lyrics at 7p and 9p.

Trout Fishing In America and the inaugural Live Music Series at The Barn at Egremont Village Inn, 17 Main Street in South Egremont, Massachusetts: Saturday, July 23rd, with shows at 2p, 7p, and 9p; $25 for adults, $10 for kids 12 and under.
