- Jeremy Baum
Area organist Baum has served as a sideman to the likes of Shemekia Copeland, Levon Helm, Melvin Sparks, Richie Havens, the North Mississippi All Stars, John Hammond, Jr., Jim Weider, Little Sammy Davis, and many others. His earthy Hammond-organ sound is rooted in the blues and funky soul-jazz sounds of the late 1960s a la Booker T. and the MG’s, the Meters, and Jimmy Smith, as well as being informed by the current masters of the groove from the jam-band scene like the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Oz Noy, and Medeski, Martin and Wood. His trio also features guitarist Chris Vitarello and drummer Erik Perez.
