How Superman Sees the Stars

When: Tue., May 16, 8-9 p.m. 2017

Our eyes are poor instruments for studying the Universe. They detect only a single portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. X-Rays give us a completely different picture than the visible light our eyes detect. Using the X-ray eyes of telescopes orbiting the Earth, Columbia University Professor David Helfand will reveal how Superman would see the stars.
