Figuratively Speaking Exhibit

When: Thursdays-Sundays, 12 p.m. and Sun., March 31, 6 p.m. Continues through March 31 2013

An exhibition of works by Donald Alter of the legendary Black Mountain College, Sarah Haviland, and Giselle Behrens. Each artist interprets their vision of the human figure in both literal and surreal art forms capturing the esssence of our physicality and imagination. Alter presents the figure in a very sensitive, picture-book narrative style in the form of paintings, drawings and mixed media works. Haviland uses sculpture to distill human and natural forms with the simplicity of gesture while investigating mythology and images of women. Behrens creates fantastical surreal worlds and stories through photos inspired by the feminine psyche and fashion.
