It's natural to measure your child's height and weight, but what about your child's development? Astor Early Childhood Programs and United Way of Dutchess County are teaming up with the Tivoli Free Library to offer FREE developmental check-ups for children 4 months to 5 years old. This service provides another tool to measure a child's growth and success. Call us to schedule an appointment for a private screening with a specially-trained parent educator. The educator will help complete a brief questionnaire about your child's development, which will be reviewed in five areas: communication, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, problem solving, and personal/social. Immediate results will let you know where your child is excelling and where you can step in and help. The parent educator will also help connect you with area resources if necessary. Children may be screened every two to six months, depending on their age. To pre-register your child for a FREE developmental check-up, call Astor at 2-1-1, or 1-800-899-1479 .
