Columbus Day Weekend happenings at Omi!
Richard Barnes

Two new gallery exhibitions featuring ceramic works by Nicole Cherubini and sculptural relief works by Remy Jungerman open Oct. 8 in the Benenson Visitors Center with a public reception at 2 PM.

In the Fields, Kahn + Selesnick introduce new imagery to Freya Powell's zoetrope to present Active Turn: Devils Wheel. The working sculpture finds new life through collaboration with the local artists, who have created a delightfully haunting moving image, emerging from Omi's swamp.

Out in the Architecture Fields, installation of Steam Canoe, a new work by Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD) Students + Mark Tholen is underway, and Ward Shelley + Alex Schweder are back for a last spin in ReActor before the winter chill settles in. Come visit them now through Oct. 10 in the tilting house on a hill!

All events are free and open to the public. Visit www.artomi.org for more info.
