Cold Comfort Opens at KMOCA
"And the Children Shall Inherit the Earth," by Chris Buzelli

KMOCA's "Cold Comfort, Monstrous Icons of Winter" December group show is anchored by Chris Buzelli's "And the Children Shall Inherit the Earth," a startling rendering of the Krampus of Northern European Christmas nightmares. An allusive hodgepodge—part flying monkey, part cat-eyed killer, part Dantean circle of hell—Buzzelli turns Christmas on its head, complete with little red wagon.

For the December group show, KMOCA invited 30 artists to submit their own interpretations of the beasties of the season. A frightful and funny group they are, just the thing to add a little levity and fright to the merriment and solemnity.

The show opens Saturday, December 7, with a reception from 5 to 7pm, and continues through December 28 at KMOCA.
