In the Hudson Valley, few things have signaled the region’s jubilant return to normal more than a jam-packed summer of live music. And with the region’s thriving music scene humming along once more, the high-profile opening of City Winery Hudson Valley has music, food, and wine enthusiasts alike flocking to scenic Orange County.

Located in the renovated site of the historic Montgomery Mills, the newest iteration of the franchise founded by The Knitting Factory’s Michael Dorf is a sustainability-minded, fully net-zero 22-acre riverside compound with ample room for vineyards, a tasting room, indoor and outdoor performance spaces, fine dining, and events.

With its restaurant now open seven days a week and its Concerts in the Vineyard series bringing beloved local acts to its outdoor stage, City Winery Hudson Valley is more than ready to play host to a whole week’s worth of sundrenched summer plans.

On the docket for the outdoor concert series, which kicked off in June, is Elton John cover band Early Elton Trio, Joan Osborne, Brett Dennen, Jorma Kaukonen, Strawberry Fields: Ultimate Beatles Experience, Raul Malo, Dar Williams, Martin Sexton, and the Weight, a tribute to The Band. Doors open at 12:30pm and shows start at 2pm so you can pick out a spot on the lawn to let the good vibes wash over you all afternoon.

If you’re stopping by for a concert, be sure to make a reservation at the Barrel Room restaurant—once the original entrance to the mill—and enjoy lunch, brunch, or dinner indoors or on one of the two outdoor patios with breathtaking views of the historic Montgomery Mills property and the scenic Wallkill River.

The menu, which borrows from Italian, French, Spanish, and Middle Eastern cuisines known for pairing great food with wine for centuries, is regionally-influenced and locally-sourced. Favorites like the signature flatbreads and risotto balls, as well as locally driven specialties, are all made for pairing with City Winery’s extensive wine list, which includes its own award-winning wines, produced in-house.

With so much on offer every day of the week, City Winery Hudson Valley is sure to become a favorite spot visitors and residents alike this summer—and every season that follows.
