Sound waves, like light waves radiate from their origins at a given speed. Light we see from distant stars show us past events as they reach our eyes. Why not sound waves. If a tree fell in the woods from a distant planet its sound waves might reach our ears some day. If we should be so fortunate to faintly hear the word "timber" we'll know we are not alone. Chuck
