Next week, the Mid-Hudson Valley will enter Phase 2 of reopening, and with that, the region's restaurants will be able to offer limited outdoor dining. Whether you're planning on heading out for an al fresco meal next week or ordering take out this weekend, consider patronizing a Black-owned business. Below is our working list of Black-owned restaurants in the Hudson Valley—not exhaustive, but growing. (Add a missing business here.)

Before heading to these restaurants, check their social pages or call to make sure they are still open during the pandemic.

A whirlwind vision and a wild paint job later, she opened up shop in July, amidst a social distancing-inspired gravel patio, lush with plants and picnic tables. "It has this tropical, beachy vibe," Melo says, which her neon shack and exotic ice creams only elevate.
