The evening’s program begins with a Native drum ceremony. Following the film Ramapough leaders will host a discussion. Sponsored by Neetopk Keetopk, Association of Native Americans of the Hudson Valley - Green Phoenix Permaculture and Wild Earth. The Ramapough Lunaape Nation is centered on tribal lands straddling NY and NJ about 20 miles north of NYC. They have received considerable media attention for their efforts to clean up toxic waste dumped on their lands by the Ford Motor Company plant in nearby Mahwah., NJ. Poisonings have resulted in many early deaths among tribe members.
