A Public Forum on Federal and State Education Policy

Moderator: Dr. Joan Mandle, Executive Director, Democracy Matters. All state and federal elected officials representing Dutchess County (State Assembly Districts 103,104,105,106; State Senate Districts 40 and 41; Congressional Districts 18 and 19; The Office of the Governor; Regent Judith Johnson) have been invited to participate. Senator Peter Harckham (SD40) and Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson (AD104) are confirmed to attend: other “elected” are sending representatives. The Alliance For Quality Education, the statewide advocacy group for public education will be represented by Jasmine Gripper, Legislative Director & Statewide Education Advocate. The purpose of the DCPAA is to inspire and mobilize sustained community activism through the involvement of the people of Dutchess County, New York, in order to promote progressive agendas at all levels of government. The Forum will address Federal and State Education policies which affect school funding at every level, provide support for many programs and administer policies and regulations which impact the daily operation of all public schools. Community input is encouraged.
