To make sure I’m still alive
I could try to blame it on you
But really I’m just good at making bad decisions
It is said that inner beauty
Is all that counts
So I spend my time peeling off my skin
To expose what’s underneath
Somehow I don’t think that’ll cut it
But in the words of my great grandmother;
“It’s better to try than to do nothing,”
Except I made that all up
For a eulogy no one heard.
I could have outer beauty,
But insurance doesn’t cover that kind of sellout.
