A Poem: Icarus Decides

Of all the options
spring offers
the kite decides
—with blazing
cobalt-blue skies
above, its red-fathered eyes,
its tear by tear bow-tie
tail of heavy youth-
yellow swimming
to the terrible sun—
to drown.
