Since its founding in 1934 by families seeking a different kind of education for their children, Poughkeepsie Day School has been at the forefront of progressive teaching in the Hudson Valley. Last fall, the school reopened its doors with a new mission statement and a renewed drive to grow its community, but with the same goal at its heart: to prepare a new generation of leaders to create a more just world.
A Native-led initiative, launched in August, Forge Project is educating the public while providing Indigenous activists with a place to make changes in their communities.
