A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois

Musical selections and a keynote address by Professor Amilcar Shabazz, University of Massachusetts Amherst on the life and legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois. Born in Great Barrington in 1868, Du Bois was a scholar, a champion of civil rights, and an international activist for peace. A day of events commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of his death on August 27, 1963. Reading from Du Bois’s works at 10AM at the Mason Library. Tours of the Du Bois Homesite at 2PM and 3:30PM.
