A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois - Readings from Du Bois' Works

When: Sat., Aug. 24, 10 a.m. 2013

Great Barrington residents read excerpts from their favorite works by W.E.B. Du Bois. Born in Great Barrington in 1868, Du Bois was a scholar, a champion of civil rights, and an international activist for peace. A day of events commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of his death on August 27, 1963. The reading is followed by a program at the First Congregational Church in Great Barrington at 11 AM, and tours of the Du Bois Homesite at 2PM and 3:30PM. See www.duboisnhs.org for details, or email Wray Gunn (wraygunn@msn.com) to register for a tour of the Homesite.

Price: Free and open to the public.
