3 Fancy Feasts to Ring in the New Year in the Hudson Valley

Sip & Sup at these Swank New Year's Eve Dinner Events

Last Updated: 12/21/2018 12:25 pm
While it's certainly nice that we don't have to change into formalwear just to eat dinner every night, every once in a while it's a lot of fun to get gussied up. New Year's Eve is the perfect occasion to bust out the ol' cocktail frock and silk tie and hit the town. For those of you hoping to avoid the amateur drinkers and club scene, we've rounded up three swanky New Year's Eve suppers in the Hudson Valley for a good dose of fancy fun.

Black & White Ball

What: AndNorth and Audrey's Farmhouse are teaming up to throw a Black & White Ball, the timeless gold standard of class. Come dressed to the nines to toast the New Year with a lavish feast, open bar, and live music by The Bee’s Knees. The meal will be a decadent spread of foods like lobster tails, oysters, and ribs in the lush, plant-filled heated greenhouse. ($250 for dinner & dancing, just dancing + drinks $100).

Where: Audrey’s Farmhouses & The Greenhouses is a boutique hotel and event venue in Wallkill. 188 Bruynswick Rd, Wallkill, NY 12589.

When: Monday, December 31, 2018. Dinner: 8pm–10pm; Dancing: 10pm-1am

Home & Hearth Supper

What: Brace yourself for an exquisitely indulgent culinary experience. Kingston’s hottest new chef, Chris Turgeon of the lauded Uptown restaurant Wilde Beest, is cooking up a 16-course feast complete with wine and cocktail pairings. We don’t want to leak the whole menu but some highlights to look forward to include slow roasted squash with beetroot and whipped ricotta; cream of sunchoke soup; scallop crudo, 36-hour pork belly, and hibiscus sorbet. ($280)

Where: 7MilestoKingston is a stunning 1700s stone house in Marbletown, NY that was renovated and re-envisioned by COCORAU founder Konstanze Zeller. The four-acre property, which has a pool, landscaped grounds, and a sweeping view of the Catskills doubles as a high-end vacation rental and pop-up event venue. 506 N. Marbletown Street, Marbletown.

When: Saturday, December 29, 2018

Fish & Game 5-Course Feast

What: James Beard award-winning chef Zak Pelaccio is boldly leading Hudson into a new era of cuisine. He will open Fish & Game on a Monday for a deliciously rich New Year’s Eve five-course prix fixe featuring caviar, roasted bone marrow, guinea hen and foie gras, wagyu beef, and more, along with natural wine pairings. Reservations include entry to Pelaccio’s other Hudson establishment, BackBar for a midnight toast and dance party. ($250)

Where: Fish & Game, Pelaccio’s first Hudson restaurant, is the perfected Upstate execution of the hyper-local, fresh and foraged, tail-to-snout ethos that Brooklyn icons like Diner gave rise to in the early aughts.

When: Monday, December 31, 2018, accepting reservations between 6:30-9pm

Hudson’s premier cheese and provisions shop Talbott & Arding is expanding into a sprawling new space on Allen Street next month. Clocking in at 8,000 square feet, the new storefront will be a continuation of T&A’s current concept as a hub for local provisions makers. With plenty of room to stretch their wings, the new location will have expanded offerings of cheese, charcuterie, pastries, and fresh pasta, plus a re-crafted food menu.
