Hop aboard The Delaware & Ulster Railroad (DURR) Tastings Train for a leisurely-paced excursion through the scenic Catskill Mountains on Saturday, November 4. Come with your appetite; passengers will be treated to samples of local craft beverages, cheeses, and charcuterie while seated aboard the recently restored historic Rip Van Winkle Flyer. During the 3-hour round-trip, Delaware County craft beverage and food producers will make their way to each car and educate patrons on their Delaware County-made food and drink.

Departing from DURR’s Arkville Station at 2pm, The Tastings Train will make a brief stop in Halcottsville at the Hubbell Family Farm where guests can view the apple pressing process by the farms authentic 1800s cider mill. After the presentation, the historic convoy will continue on to Roxbury. On the journey back to Arkville, more discussions, demonstrations, and tastings of local beverages and foods will take place.

This autumnal adventure will kick off the 2017 Taste of New York Craft Beverage Week, with programming running from Sunday, November 5 through Saturday, November 11. Hudson Valley Rip Van Winkle Brewing Company, Angry Innovation Ciderhouse, and Dennings Point Distillery will be participating in the week-long event, along with a dozen other New York Breweries, Cideries, Wineries, and Distilleries. Tickets for The Tastings Train are $25 per person and can be purchased from Eventbrite or the Delaware County official website.
