In Honor of the 4th, 9 Days of Fireworks!


When Independence Day fall on a Wednesday, there's lots to be thankful for—a five-day weekend for many and—holy freedom fries!—SO MANY FIREWORKS!

All over the Hudson Valley, the skies will be lit up over the next 8 days to celebrate the glorious and free America. Most festivities include live music and food. So pick your favorite town and stake out a spot for the starlit spectacle.

East Fishkill - 6/29

9:15pm. East Fishkill Recreation Park, New York 82 & New York 376 Hopewell Junction, 12533.

Accord - 6/29

Head to the dirt track speedway for the Fireworks Extravaganza. They will race all divisions plus have Chicken BBQ and fireworks at dusk. SAccord Speedway, 299 Whitfield Road, Accord, NY 12404.

Albany/Troy - 6/29-7/5

Carmel - 6/30

6-10pm. Join your friends, family, and neighbors as they spread out on the lawn with blankets, chairs, and food listening to great music followed by fireworks. Local folk singer Susan Wright will kick off the night with the Barbershop singers. The Mad Hatters will play at 7pm, followed at 7:30 pm by Kati Mac and Southeast Station. Germantown - 6/30

Live music, food vendors, games and activities for the kids from 4pm on. Fireworks at 9:30pm. Rain date: July 2. Admission: $3 per person or $15/car load. Palatine Park, 50 Palatine Road, Germantown.

Brewster - 7/1

Join the Southeast Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday evening. Live music starts at 7:30pm and fireworks start at 9:30pm. Rain date: 7/7. Highlands Shopping Center, Independent Way, Brewster, NY 10509.

Beacon - 7/1

5pm. After nearly getting cancelled, Beacon's firework show is back ON! Head to the Memoral Park on Sunday evening for live music and food vendors. Fireworks start at 9pm. Memorial Park, Robert Cahill Drive, Beacon. If you'd rather be on the water for the fireworks head to the Beacon dock at 6pm and join Clearwater for a sunset sail on both 7/1 and 7/2.

Palenville - 7/2

3pm. Live music starts the day off with a concert by The Cagneys and B-Boys. Food and drinks will be available for sale, and fireworks at 9pm. Rip Van Winkle Country Club, 3200 NY-23A, Palenville, NY 12463

Newburgh - 7/3

6-10pm. This year Newburgh is joining its Community Day and Independence Day celebration into one big party. Food, games, fireworks, and more, with live music from the Funk Junkies. Cronomer Hill Park, Newburgh, 12550.

Catskill - 7/3

6pm. Celebrate the 4th with a good old fashioned American BBQ with ice cream and lawn games, followed by fireworks at dusk. Scribner's Catskill Lodge. 

Wappingers Falls 7/3 & 7/5

The Dutchess County Stadium will have fireworks after the Hudson Valley Renegades vs. Aberdeen game on Tuesday at the game against Staten Island on Thursday. Game starts at 7:05pm. 1500 New York 9D, Wappingers Falls, 12590. (845) 838-0094.

Bannerman Island - 7/3

7-10pm. The Bannerman Castle Trust's Tour Boat, the Estuary Steward, will depart for the island from the Beacon dock at 7:00pm. Get a full island tour, then reboard the boat to watch Newburgh's fireworks from the middle of the Hudson River. Beacon dock, Red Flynn Drive, Beacon.

Monroe - 7/3

4pm. Food and fun for the whole family! Fireworks start approximately 9pm. Rain date: 7/6. Lake St & Millpond Pkwy, Monroe, 10950.

Germantown - 7/4

2-10pm. Celebrate an Old-Fashioned Independence Day at Clermont Historic Site, with 18th century crafts, Re-enactors, music and entertainment. A great day for young families. Cairo - 7/4

Head to the Town Park at 6pm for fun and fireworks at dusk. Angelo Canna Town Park, Mountain Avenue Cairo, NY 12413.

Windham - 7/4

The town of Windham will come alive of the 4th, with a sidewalk sale, food, music, and the annual sidewalk sale. For choice views of the night's fireworks, buy a lift ticket to Windham Mountain. Fireworks start at 9pm. Windham Mountain Resort, 19 Resort Drive, Windham.

Saugerties - 7/4

Saugerties will hold its great 4th of July Parade on Wednesday morning. Line-up for the Parade is 10am on Washington Avenue, across from the High School. Step off is at 11am. Fireworks at dusk. Cantine Field, Pavilion St, Saugerties, NY 12477.

Kingston - 7/4

The City of Kingston Fireworks Festival returns to the historic Rondout waterfront. LIve music at 5pm. Fireworks over the water at 9:30pm. Have a bite to eat, picnic on a boat, or bring a lawn chair. T.R. Gallo Waterfront Park, W. Strand Street, Kingston, NY 12401.

Poughkeepsie - 7/4
Head to the epic Walkway Over the Hudson for fireworks over the water at dusk. Tickets are $12.50 for the general public and $10 to Walkway members. Kids ages 10 and under are free but registration is required. Rain date: 7/5. Walkway Over the Hudson State Park and Waryas Park.

Ellenville - 7/4

Join in the fun at Liberty Square, where people will gather at 12pm for arts, crafts, food, and a full-blown Parade with floats and bands. There will also be fireworks after dusk at Joseph Y. Resnick Airport, Ellenville. (845) 647-4620;

Cornwall - 7/4

Fourth of July in Cornwall is a BIG DEAL. There is a nonprofit committee, a website and a whole day of activities starting at 7am, with a parade at 5pm and fireworks at 9:30 pm 183 Main Street, Cornwall, 12518.

Katonah - 7/4
8-10pm. Celebrate July 4th the Caramoor way. During Pops, Patriots, and Fireworks, Caramoon will pay tribute to Leonard Bernstein alongside other grand symphonic works with the esteemed Westchester Symphonic Winds and two stellar alumni from Caramoor’s Schwab Vocal Rising Stars. New Paltz - 7/6

The Town of New Paltz will celebrate Independence day with music, food, festivities, and fireworks at dusk. Ulster County Fairgrounds. 249 Libertyville Rd, New Paltz, 12561.

Tannersville - 7/7

3pm. Things kick off in the quaint town of Tannersville with a parade down Main Street followed by a festival at Rip Van Winkle Lake with live music from 4-7pm and fireworks at dusk. Main Street, Tannerville.
