Not to be too jazz-centric (as if that’s possible) after last week’s posts about shows by Roswell Rudd and Leonisa Ardizzone, here I am again with some news about another local gig for jazz fans to take note of.

This Thursday, Jazzstock, the production organization cofounded by vocalist Teri Roiger and bassist John Menegon, is soft-launching a new jazz concert series at the Senate Garage building in Kingston’s historic Stockade District. For the occasion, a performance by Roiger, Menegon, and their fellow Hudson Valley Jazz Collective members Pete Levin (piano), Tony Jefferson (drums), Eric Person (sax), and Chris Pasin (trumpet) will take place and wine, beer, soft drinks, and light fare will be on sale.

Here, Roiger, Menegon, and others perform Billie Holiday’s “Fine and Mellow” in New York in 2015:

The Jazzstock “Jazz at the Senate Garage” series opening party will take place November 17 at 7:30pm in Kingston, New York. Admission is $10. For more information and reservations, call (845) 802-0029 or visit
