Hudson Valley jazz fans have at least two great live music options on November 19: the Roswell Rudd birthday celebration I mentioned earlier this week, and a performance by the Leonisa Ardizzone Quartet at the Rosendale Cafe.

New York vocalist Ardizzone swings sweetly between the worlds of jazz, pop, and even punk. She also flits between music and other disciplines, being a science teacher, a published author, an activist for social justice, a Unitarian Universalist minister in training, and, on top of all of that, a mom. She brings along said quartet of Jess Jurkovic on piano, Justin Hines on drums, and Bob Sabin on bass for this suave Saturday date in Rosendale.

Indulge yourself here with her interpretation of the Clash’s “Train in Vain”:

The Leonisa Ardizzone Quartet will appear at the Rosendale Cafe in Rosendale, New York, on November 19 at 8pm. Admission is $10. For more information, call (845) 658-9048 or visit www.Rosendalecafe.com.
