The title tells the tale: Over the course of 24 hours, a constantly changing cast of experimental artists will maintain a steady but shifting spectrum of sustained sounds, keeping the drones going for the full allotment by handing the sonic baton off from one act to the next. The effect is immersive and indescribably hypnotic. This year’s event features Oneida, Innov Gnawa, Alberich, Dual Action, Lussuria, Dreamcrusher, Camilla Padgitt-Coles and Bonnie Baxter of Kill Alters, Efrim Manuel Menuck, Gambletron, Jessica Moss & Kevin Doria, Drums & Drones (Brian Chase of Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Noveller, Ceramic TL + Open Fortress, Cosmic Planetary Gong Panacea with Theresa Lyn Widmann and Friends, Christopher Tignor featuring Meshell Ndegeocello, hARBOUR, Tyler Wood, Megafortress, Bobby Previte, Patrick Higgins and Ben Greenberg, Arone Dyer’s (Buke and Gace) Dronechoir, and more. The 2016 expanded lineup includes artist blocks selected by Tinnitus and Hospital Productions, drone-related video screenings by Second Ward Foundation, interstitial sound pieces, long-duration video and sound art exhibition curated by Wave Farm, film screenings, interactive art installations, and more to be announced. Food and other vendors will be on hand as well.
