Last Friday, Little Apple, a new juice bar opened in the former Press and Blend location on Tinker Street in Woodstock. I stopped in on Saturday to taste their organic soft-serve frozen yogurt, including a vegan coconut flavor, and organic juices. The place is very bright and cheery and a has a cute logo. The owners Jo Mesker and Maish Freedman are very proud of the frozen yogurt they sell. (Little Apple is the only place between New York and Montreal that sells Cloud Top, a special brand of organic soft serve frozen yogurt). The soft serve frozen yogurt is organic, kosher, gluten-free, and all-natural. Freedman insisted I try the pomegranate flavor. It was so silky and delicious! It tasted very creamy. It reminded me of the soft serve ice cream in France that has a more refined taste to it than the American soft ice cream.
Freedman said that there was a steady stream of visitors to the store on the first day, including Kris Carr, the author of the popular Crazy Sexy Diet and Crazy Sexy Kitchen book. I left Little Apple with a bottle of SkinnyGreen juice. It was much better than the green veggie juices I've tried to make at home, and much better than Press and Blend's to be honest. I will have to try a smoothie next time. They even have smaller cold-pressed apple juices for the kids. They also sell cleansing juice combos that start at $50. You can also get your wheat grass here. I think Little Apple will be here for a long time.
