Sharing the River of Life: The Two Row Wampum Treaty Renewal Campaign and Our Collective Future

Oren Lyons
Onondaga chief and human and environmental rights leader Oren Lyons will speak on the The Two Row Wampum Renewal Campaign, a statewide advocacy and educational project which seeks to achieve justice by polishing the chain of friendship established in the first treaty between the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and Dutch immigrants in 1613. A symbolic enactment of the ideas in the treaty, by Natives and Non-native allies, will take place on the Hudson River this summer from Albany to NYC, ending at the United Nations.
