The Poetry Brothel of Kingston removes poetry from the world of academia and places it in the context of a turn-of-the-20th-century bordello. Each poet takes on a different character and is a decked out in lavish costumes. The characters present their poems from the stage. In true brothel fashion, audience members can request a one-on-one reading in a dark corner for $3. "It's more of a variety show, although the focus is on words.
