Poem: "The Piano Lesson" | Poetry | Hudson Valley | Chronogram Magazine

The Piano Lesson

a moth floats across warm summer grass

hesitates—then
flies away

disappearing into a peeling
white sky

on the driveway
a cat casts a momentary shadow

crows call out
in a fluttering rain of wings

—petals of sunlight falling.

—E Gironda, Jr.
