Mandolin Orange at Seligmann Center for the Arts | Music | Hudson Valley | Chronogram Magazine

July 9. North Carolina folk duo Mandolin Orange—Andrew Marlin (guitar, vocals) and Emily Frantz (violin, vocals)—got together in 2009 after meeting up at a local Chapel Hill jam session. Since then, the pair has released three fine albums, the newest being last year’s This Side of Jordan, which picked up critical acclaim in the roots/Americana press. This summer, the twosome is set to join the ranks of folk legends past and present at the Newport Folk Festival—but before they head up to Rhode Island they’ll visit the Seligmann Center for the Arts for one of the Orange County venue’s intimate Seligmann Studio all ages shows. Twain opens. 7pm. $15. Sugar Loaf. (845) 469-9459; Kurtseligmann.org.
