Within Deirdre Leber’s paintings is a quiet that is only interrupted by subtle movements of water and perhaps a timid whir of wind rustling the foliage. In these imagined and realistic pieces are moments of solace, private scenes that emit tranquility in a combination of both movement and stillness. Her work features her later figure paintings and recent abstract pieces of women and water. She paints the two encompassing each other in shared fluidity.
